We Are A Church
We believe that the New Testament church is the most glorious institution on the earth today because the Lord Jesus Christ founded it Himself and that it has the greatest mission of any organization. The church is "...the house of God, the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of truth" (1 Timothy 3:15). This means that the church is the institution to which He has given his truth and it is that group which is to proclaim, teach, and uphold His truth.
We believe that a New Testament Church is a visible assembly of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel for the purpose of carrying out the Great commission and for the observance of the ordinances of Christ. We believe that it is a democratic body led by the Holy Spirit with Jesus Christ as its head. We believe that the church should seek to give him preeminence in all things and that He should be honored and exalted in all that we do.
We do not believe in a so-called "Universal Invisible Church". We believe Jesus only established a local, visible church and that it exist in many locations throughout the world. We believe that careful distinction should be made between the family of God, the kingdom of God, and the church of God.
