WE ARE INDEPENDENT
By this we do not mean that we are independent of the Bible nor of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are not independent to do as we please, but in order that we might please our head the Lord Jesus Christ. It is not our desire to be contentious or to sit in judgment upon other churches. We rejoice wherever Christ and the gospel are preached and we rejoice where ever and when ever souls are saved.
We believe churches of like faith may work together to accomplish many things for the furtherance of the gospel. However, we avoid any alliance which comes between us and our Head. Every Baptist church must by nature be independent. We cannot control or direct the affairs of any other church and neither can any other church direct or control our affairs. All cooperation must be voluntary and follow the New Testament pattern. We reject the ecumenical movement and all attempts to unionize churches of different beliefs and practices.
