His kindness to everyone is as legendary as his fidelity to the mystery in all the peaks and valleys of daily life. His humility is the fire that enkindles his original vision of formative spirituality. His gentle, joyful spirit radiates on every page of this retelling of his life story. In it he takes us to the heart of his thinking in the fields of psychology and spiritual formation. He welcomes us wholeheartedly into the intimate corners of his family, his friendships, and his pastoral and professional life. He brings us into a little known arena of world history, the infamous Dutch Hunger Winter of 1944--1945. We travel with him from that bleak period through the renewal of his life's work in the United States to its crowning phase in the Epiphany Association, co-founded with his colleague and editor of this unforgettable work of love, Dr. Susan Muto.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the story of one woman’s journey through life. This is my story. You are invited to travel this road with me as I relive hardship as well as all the joys life has to offer. This is an inspirational story. The intention of this book is to show you that, even in adversity, if you set your vision high enough you can overcome anything. “With God all things are possible.” As you read, you will see how I turned my misfortune into victory through relentless faith. This book was written to motivate and encourage. I sometimes find myself at the top of the mountain filled with joy and then in the depths of the valley filled with despair. The one constant is that God is on that mountain rejoicing with me and is also in the valley healing my wounds. When you start reading this book, you will see me as the author, but by the time you are finished you may see me as your friend. “No one has ever seen God, but if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is truly in our hearts” (1 John: 4–12).

Download or read book Journey to God written by Dr. Ron Hansen and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2014-11-18 with total page 221 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is God for real? Is there any meaning to life? These are the questions that urged a nine-year-old to start a quest that has lasted over sixty-nine years. The journey goes from coast to coast and from border to border. The events run the gamut of the last half of the previous century: racial prejudice, school integration, Vietnam debates, and the place of Christianity in our sociopolitical society. The accounts describe facing violence without fear, and finding solutions to complex problems. What is it like to raise a family in a parsonage? Raising a family anywhere is a challenge and a joy. Whether in a parsonage or neighborhood household, having a faith to live by is a resource that makes the difference. What is different about Journey to God? The approach is to use the experiences in our everyday life together and in language anyone can understand. One does not have to be highly educated or have special spiritual experiences to discover how the divine works in today's society. Journey to God demonstrates how an everyday person with everyday abilities can experience a presence today that is usually reserved for the days of the Bible. While the characters in the Bible seem bigger than life, one does not have to be bigger--one only has to be alive to experience the same sense of the divine most assume exists only in the past.

This book was released on 2021-04-22 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Have you ever wondered how Christianity began? Why do we have churches and how do priests know what to do in mass? In this hectic world, it is easy to take this for granted and value Christianity too lightly, in some ways without thanksgiving or recognition for the thousands of years of fighting for it. The Old Testament is an accurate record of Israel's history. An Epic Journey through the Holy Bible with Jesus: Volume Two explores the holy lands with the patriarchs, prophets, and kings. Meet some heroes and villains while uncovering incredible stories about amazing leaders whose sole faith in God alone saved thousands, brave prophets who were victorious in battle, visionaries who could see the rise and fall of a kingdom, in vivid color, all by the hand of God, kings with a heart of gold and kings with a heart of stone. The Old Testament leads us to Jesus Christ, who ministers through his miracles and parables. He teaches us that through humility, kindness, and submission, we become survivors of affliction. These events are written with a perspective of topology and include evidence that archeologists, professors, and scholars have uncovered, backing up and supporting the existence of these amazing stories in Sacred Scripture that shaped Christianity today. This book will fill your curiosity with just enough facts about Israel's history that you will recognize the power and struggles it took for God's heroic believers. May you be more thankful for God's never-ending pursuit for justice, peace, and the love that He has for everyone. May your faith be more enlightened as you journey with Jesus, uncovering your roots, finding your true identity as a child of God, and may your soul be as courageous as the patriarchs, prophets, and kings.

All alone he fell into a life of abject poverty, forcing Mulli to wander from hut to hut begging for food for his very survival, unable even to attend school. ..." As a teenager Mulli started a small taxi company which grew to be very successful. Eventually he expanded his business ventures to include real estate, insurance, and oil and gas distribution, becoming a highly successful businessman. But despite all his success, the growing struggle in his heart over the plight of thousands of Kenyan street children remained strong until one day he surrendered to the call of God on his life to sell everything he owned and begin rescuing street children from the slums of Kenya. His story is told here in My Journey of Faith from his own perspective, describing his incredible life of faith that is filled with love, miracles, and powerful answers to prayer, and demonstrates persuasively how a close walk with God is accessible to all of us even today. The reader will experience the amazing true stories of tragedy-turned-triumph where hopeless cases encounter the work of Charles Mulli’s and discover a new life they could not have imagined.

This book was released on 2021-11-15 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To the Reader, I wrote this book to share with you the love and cleansing power of God's word. My prayer is that together, we will be better servants to God, our brothers and sisters. I hope this book will encourage you to seek the presence of God and submit to his life transforming power and authority. Isaiah 44:22 says, "I have blotted out, like a thick cloud, your transgressions, and like a cloud your sins, return to me, for I have redeemed you." If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, pray this prayer, believe, and receive the free gift of eternal life. Heavenly Father, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that you are the Savior, and you died on the cross for my sins, buried and rose from the dead according to the scriptures. I repent and ask you to forgive me for my sins. Come into my heart and take control of my life. By your blood, I am free from the punishment of sin. I am a new creation in Christ, born of God with the life and love of Jesus in me. My salvation has been sealed. Thank you for eternal life in Jesus's name. Amen.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The power of prayer, fasting, and meditating upon God's words made a difference in my life. I was at a point in my life where I had lost all hope, and I felt myself as an outcast in a strange place without anyone to understand my pain, which consumed my every means. Death was all I longed for both day and night. But something miraculously happened on the night that death visited me. I heard a soft whisper as it echoed the spoken words "'Vengeance is mine,' said the Lord." I felt my tears drying up instantaneously, and God stopped me in my tracks and lifted me up and took me under his wings like I had never seen before or experienced in my life. God the Father had restored my faith, strengthened me spiritually, empowered me to take control of all my affairs, made me content in all circumstances, and established me. I was able to do all things with God ordering my steps. Through faith, I was able to overcome life's struggles, and I was able to live again.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: WARNING! This is a propaganda book. I realize the word propaganda is not a word that is politically correct today. But in its original usage, it was a word coined by Pope Urban VIII. He formed the College of Propaganda in the 17th century in order to spread the Christian faith. In this sense, I AM striving for propaganda. Much of what I write in this book is meant to cause you to embrace prayer as a friend as well as a vital tool of your faith. Prayer is not boring; it is an adventure. I begin with the confession that there is probably nothing else in my spiritual life or disciplines I have struggled with more than prayer. I have read thousands of books on the subject (yes, an exaggeration), and I have been reluctant to add yet another literary work to the chaos of differing opinions, theological studies, and sure-fire methodologies that will guarantee a successful prayer life. Right! And yet, as I pondered the direction of this volume, it dawned on me that my personal journey has had little to do with theology or methodology. It hasn't even had much to do with verbiage. But it had and has everything to do with my honestly and openness before God and with what's happening in my heart at the time I'm praying. And it has everything to do with the words of Jesus--"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Our Lord wants us to pray. Always and about everything. During times of joy as well as sorrow. He wants us to talk to Him...not about Him. I've asked myself the question often lately--"Do I pray out of thoughtfulness or habit? What can I do to get my heart involved as well as my mouth?" I continue to struggle. May these writings help you in your struggle. May you enjoy your journey through the school of groaning in the days and months to come. God bless you.

Book excerpt: Life’s Journey through the Bumps is a spiritual and inspirational journey that the author has shared with hope that it helps others traveling that long journey that loss creates. “Loss is a brokenness that only those that have suffered a loss can relate to. It is a long journey on a winding road with bumps and turns.” Expressing grief through poetry has been her therapeutic way to help herself but also to reach out to others online and within the community. One can relate to the stages of grief and loss that she has encountered and how she dealt with those situations. Life is like a winding road with no end in sight and many bumps along the way. May you find strength in your journey and find peace in your heart. “Life is full of challenges that we alone must face. Times when we will struggle to wake to face the day. Times that faith and courage is tested, our pain to erase. Times we must accept the bumps will go away. We can’t change the tragic events that occurred in our past, What happened was not our doing, nor our ability to be undone. We can only face life strongly and not let depression last. Help is available as you are not alone, reach out to someone.”.... (excerpt from “Just Around the Bend”)
