This book was released on 2017-06 with total page 41 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As modern organizations seek for changes to enhance their competitive positions and their survivability in global markets, the successful implementation of organizational change has become an important management task. But still, many companies are unable to succeed in change processes. Failures show that there is considerable room for researchers to provide insights into opportunities for improving the success of organizational change events. Given the fact that individuals are the most important units in organizational change, a successful implementation requires employees’ acceptance and support. Hence, employees’ positive attitudes and their Work Engagement are considered to be fundamental requirements. Nevertheless, there is limited understanding of the multitudinous factors associated with employees ́ decision to support organizational change. Basically, organizational change is stressful as it requires the readiness to embrace change and the readjustment of employees’ routine tasks. In this regard, leadership is considered to be one of the most important variables affecting the attitudinal dimension of organizational processes. Empowering Leadership implies sharing power to foster employees’ motivation and engagement in their work. Empowering Leadership emerges when supervisors foster trust-based relationships with followers, show interest in their personal problems, facilitate participative decision-making and coach them to be more self-reliant. However, relatively few studies have tested how and why Empowering Leadership relates to Follower Work Engagement in organizational change environments. This study tries to cover exactly these points.

Book excerpt: Employee empowerment is thought to be both a solution to the problems associated with outdated 'command and control' workplaces and a way to stimulate creativity and innovation in organizations. Valuing people's dignity is at the heart of Dr. Huq's work and this led to her interest in conducting in-depth research into both the academic understanding of employee empowerment and what happens in practice. Divided into clearly defined sections are: a clear navigation of the management literature and explanation of the controversies surrounding employee empowerment.the key concepts that must be addressed and where the problems in interpretation arise.two live case studies (one large organisation with over 2000 employees and one small with 54 employees). an outline of the research methodology and sample questions. direct feedback from boardroom members to frontline operatives about their experiences of empowerment, revealing the pitfalls that may be common to many organisations.an overview of the findings with suggestions on what needs to be considered before implementing an employee empowerment programme. extensive bibliography providing an excellent reference resource. Referring also to the philosophy of Total Quality Management (TQM) and guidelines given by European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), this neat little book is a valuable resource, not only to researchers and academics, but also to practitioners in large and small organisations who are considering an empowerment programme or who want to understand and improve their current policies. Download or read book Empowering Leadership written by Michael Fletcher and published by Thomas Nelson. This book was released on 2018-01-23 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A major problem in the local church today is lack of leadership. Simply put, we have more needs than we have leaders to meet those needs. So, how do we train better leaders faster? The truth is, very few churches really have a well-thought-out leadership development plan. Growth requires continually adding healthy new leaders, who carry the church culture forward and embody its core values. Everyone knows it, but how do we achieve it? In Empowering Leadership author and leadership consultant Michael Fletcher says leaders like this can't simply be bought, nor can they be hired from someone else's leadership assembly line. Developing leaders at every level, to create an environment that attracts potential leaders, and to build better leaders faster, an organization needs more than a pipeline. It needs a culture that develops leaders organically. Finding the right kind of leaders to guide your church on a path of continual growth comes out of keeping the right focus, and that focus is not just on the leaders. In fact, as Fletcher says, It isn't about the leader. It never was about the leader. It will never be about the leader. It will always and only be about Jesus and his people. It's about the people. True leadership development includes the often messy, but necessary, interaction of life upon life. So hiring pastors and key staff roles from within the church is the very best policy—people who "breathe" the culture of the church and who have helped create the culture you want to maintain. If your church or organization needs a good leadership development structure, then you're holding the right book. Empowering Leadership details Michael's greatest insights on how to build better leaders faster by creating a leadership development culture in your church or organization—naturally, organically, continually. Empower your church or organization through great leadership. This book will show you how!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Empowering Leader is a book written for today's Christian and church leaders describing five principles of empowerment leadership. Five un-church New Zealand leaders who author David Hammond has worked with and to the author exemplify each principle, head up the chapters. In this book David uses his experience in leadership across the secular and Christian worlds to show how leaders can develop their style into one which unleashes the potential of others to reach our communities and to better engage our church volunteers. The author brings his insights into leadership from a career in leadership assessment and development, as a missionary in the Middle East, Chairman of organisations, Church Planter, and a Chief Executive with 10 years' experience at that level. David's expertise in creating empowerment models for organisations in New Zealand and Australia leads him to frequently speak and train others in the principles of empowering leadership.

This book was released on 2019-05-03 with total page 22 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Research Paper (undergraduate) from the year 2019 in the subject Business economics - Personnel and Organisation, grade: 7.5 (NDL-System), University of Amsterdam, language: English, abstract: Past research has shown that an empowering leadership style can be effective in improving follower performance, but it is unclear how individual personality traits influence that relationship. This research paper specifically looks at how the extraversion of the leader has an influence on the effectiveness of an empowering leadership on follower performance. The research hypothesizes that a leader using an empowering leadership has a positive influence on follower performance, and that the follower performance is higher when the leader has a high level of extraversion, compared to a low level of extraversion. The hypotheses are tested with a sample of 100 employees and their direct managers. Neither of the two hypotheses have found support, suggesting that there is no relationship between empowering leadership and follower performance, and that the relationship is not influenced by the leader’s level of extraversion.

Download or read book Total Leaders 2 0 written by Charles J. Schwahn and published by R&L Education. This book was released on 2010-04-16 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Total Leaders 2.0 is the twenty-first-century's quick guide to leadership and successful change. It places the best thinking of several dozen, cutting-edge leadership and change gurus of the past two decades into an integrated, compelling, easily understood, and practical leadership framework: the Total Leader 2.0 Model. The model's five domains and fifteen performance roles enable leaders in any field of endeavor to systematically address the challenges of organizational change in today's technologically-driven, dramatically changing world-what the book's first two chapters vividly describe as the Age of Empowerment. This new edition of the widely read Total Leaders book: 1) significantly deepens the theoretical grounding and applicability of the original Total Leader Model, and 2) expands its connection to other significant dimensions of leadership, professionalism, personal empowerment, learning, life, and change. This book provides education leaders with a powerful 'outside the box' perspective on today's pressing educational issues and a systematic process-called strategic design-for moving their organizations from an Industrial Age grounding to an Age of Empowerment way of educating for the twenty-first century.
